Student Support

“Every child deserves to be seen, supported, and empowered to thrive.”

Our school is committed to promoting whole-person education, adopting diverse support models to address students’ learning differences. We provide Special Education Support, Primary Transition, Gifted Education, Inclusive School Culture, and Other Learning Support, ensuring that every student grows in a caring and inclusive environment.

Special Education Support

We uphold the principles of early identification, early intervention, whole-school participation, home-school collaboration, and cross-sector cooperation, and adopt a whole-school approach to promote inclusive education. Teachers, parents, and professionals work together to build a caring and inclusive campus culture.

Core Measures

·        Learning & Teaching Support: Individual support plans, curriculum and teaching adjustments, and special exam arrangements are provided to enhance learning outcomes for students with special educational needs.

·        Early Identification & Intervention (EII): Using the “Primary One Student Learning Scale” and classroom observations, teachers and educational psychologists quickly identify learning difficulties and provide immediate support.

·        Educational Psychology Services: Educational psychologists visit regularly to conduct professional assessments, design individualized support plans, and provide consultation for parents and training for teachers.

·        School-based Speech Therapy: Speech therapists identify and support students with speech difficulties, offering therapy and progress reviews to strengthen communication and classroom learning.

·        Subject Tutorial Groups: Small-step remedial support in Chinese, English, and Mathematics to gradually improve learning effectiveness.

·        Professional Training Services:

o   Attention Training: Game-based activities to improve focus and concentration.

o   Social Skills Training: Role-play and scenarios to build cooperation, communication, and problem-solving.

o   Emotional Management Training: Techniques for self-awareness and emotional regulation.

o   Literacy Training: Structured exercises to enhance reading comprehension and writing skills.

Home-School Collaboration

·        Parent-School Partnership: Through meetings, workshops, and parent sharing sessions, strategies are co-developed to support children’s growth.

Gifted Education

We believe every student has unique potential. Our multi-tiered gifted education programs nurture talent across disciplines.

·        School-wide Gifted Education: Infusing higher-order thinking, creativity, and social skills into classroom learning, including STEM and cross-disciplinary projects.

·        Pull-out Programs: Specialized training for high-ability students in areas such as Mathematics Olympiad, creative writing, debating, and Artificial Intelligence, with opportunities to participate in external competitions.

These programs enhance knowledge and skills while fostering leadership and positive values.

Inclusive School Culture

We actively promote diversity and inclusion, encouraging students to learn respect, empathy, and acceptance through daily interactions.

·        Festivals & International Day: Students wear cultural attire, share stories, and celebrate diversity.

·        Inclusive Education Week: Competitions, performances, and cross-cultural exchanges to build a “One World” atmosphere.

·        Community Service: Student volunteers visit elderly homes and special schools, practicing care and respect.

These activities help students live out the spirit of “Respect differences, build harmony.”

Other Learning Support

·        Tutorial Classes: Afternoon sessions to support students in completing assignments, addressing learning challenges, and strengthening independent study skills.
